Heart of the Home- Kitchen & Carved Pantry Doors

The pantry door is usually the first sign something's different. Instead of a flush panel that disappears into the wall, there's a carved antique door — salvaged from an old estate or a church, with detail no modern manufacturer bothers with anymore. It doesn't hide the pantry. And it rarely matches anything else in the room on purpose, because nothing here is supposed to look bought as a set.
The wine cabinet is where it gets inventive. Instead of a built-in glass-front unit — fine, functional, and identical to every renovation, antique armoires are getting pulled out of retirement and gutted for storage. A piece that held someone's linens for a century now holds bottles and glassware, quietly wired for cooling in the back. The original hardware, dented and dark with age, always stays.
